Aran Baik

Born in Busan, South Korea.  Resides in NYC.

Aran launched her career in design after studying at a number of programs across the country. She holds a B.S. in Apparel Design from the University of Texas, an AAS from Parsons School of Design in NYC, and a specialty Masters in Knitwear Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Aran continued to develop her style and technique through a workshop with Swedish designer Sandra Backlund, who introduced her to the world of conceptual knitwear.

Since returning to New York City, Aran has worked at several fashion houses, including Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan Collection. She has also collaborated with Victoria Bartlett of VPL for five years, creating conceptual finale pieces for VPL’s runway shows at New York Fashion Week, and producing knitwear as art for a collaboration between artist Ugo Rondinone and designer Victoria Bartlett.

Aran currently works as a freelance knitwear designer while developing collections of wall art and fiber art installations.
